The Pete Dye Resort Course at the Westin Mission Hills has all the Dye signatures — from the railroad ties to the swales. But Dye holds back on some of the usual bite, keeping the winter rusty resort visitor in mind. The slope rating from the gold tees is a modest 126.

That doesn't mean you won't have a memorable day on the golf course. Dye has you shooting across a subdivision street in one hilarious hole. He frames No. 8's green so that it looks like the mountains overhead are gobbling it up. In fact, there are times Dye almost makes you forget all the houses.

There are tons of them along this golf course. Some thankfully seem to have picked up Dye's sense of humor. One homeowner has a copy statue of the Brussels Pissing Boy statue — legend has it he saved Brussels by "spraying" out a fire, hey it's Belgium — right in his backyard along one of the fairways.
