Palm Desert Country Club near Palm Springs

A $12 million renovation has completely changed the look of Palm Desert Country Club. It's gone from a golf course that barely had grass in the fairways to one that's all lush green. This is still very much a reasonable Palm Springs-area course, with greens fees topping off at $75 in high season.

For that you get open fairways, plenty of chances to go for par 4s with your driver and some interesting water holes. This is one of the oldest courses in the Coachella Valley, having opened in 1962, and the renovation keeps that traditional Palm Springs old school look while adding some drama. There are houses around and mountains in the background.
