Great course
San Geronimo is a great course especially for the Golfnow price of 69 bucks with a cart. We teed off at 10;42 and the weather was great. The greens are always in great shape, and the overall course was in great shape for the horrible drought we are having in NorCal.Highly recommend this track for golfers of all handicaps.
Average
Played it for the first time over the weekend. It's just average. The greens were pretty poor. Unrepaired divots all over the greens. We followed a tournament and I guess the players were too lazy.
The one saving grace was that the pace of play was pretty good. Didn't really have to wait until the last two holes as we were following walkers.
Course wasn't all that interesting until the back nine where there were a few fun holes. For me not worth the drive or money and it was a 42$ hot deal for a 1:50pm tee time. Probably won't play it again.
Challenging course - awesome staff
Played from the blues (not sure why since i'm a 19 Handicap) and it was definitely a challenge, especially on the par 3s. Course is well managed and staff is incredibly friendly. Only issues was the holed on 11 being moved to the center of the fairway. Turned a par 4 into a 3, and really just wasn't fun.
Great day at San Geronimo
Showed up a little early...Check in was easier than ever before....Everything was done when I arrived...All I had to do was get my receipt and put clubs on the cart....The course was excellent with no waiting on any hole....Staff was so friendly...Absolutely one of the most enjoyable rounds I've played in a long time...Thanks and I will definitely use this site again....
Great condition
The course , tees, and greens were in immaculate condition. Hole locations and green reads were difficult as usual, but it was in the best shape I've seen it in years!
Great course.
As a 19 handicap, I lost a few balls- but had a great time. Course was well kept and staff was extremely friendly. Would play again.
Bad Starter
We booked an early morning tee time and played a fast paced 16 holes until the starter, for some nonsensical reason, decides to let a shotgun tournament go out in front of us. We were stuck behind two groups teeing off on holes 17 and 18. When I called the proshop to complain, the rude guy said "well at least we got 15 holes in" and "we played too fast". Too fast! That's gotta be a golf course first. Course was in great shape and it was enjoyable until the end....
A hidden gem
Slows nice golf course in a serene setting. I have played this golf course several times and have not encountered any slow play and players and staff are very courteous. I would recommend this golf course.
Nice track
I drove from SF... I am glad I did !!! I have a 10 year old daughter that plays!! They are junior friendly! We teed off early around 7:45... We finished by 10:45... The course did get crowed later ... So don't know how long it would have been if we were later. Great value , beautiful surroundings . Would definitely come back !!
Good course to play
Played with two beginners. Good course for both them and me.
Poor condition/ Slowest round played
We played an entire round behind the slowest foursome i have ever experienced. The Marshal came out twice and did nothing but drive past them as they took 15 minutes on the putting green. In addition the course in in poor condition. It appears the course may have once been wonderful but currently is in far worse condition that many of the municipal courses I play in the Bay Area. The Staff was friendly but seemed to not care about the experience you were paying for.
Fun and challenging
I've played this course five or six times now. The greens have always been in good shape and very challenging. You don't want to be above the hole! The fairways are starting to brown and harden. Very fun course and great territorial views.
more then satisfactory
with the golf now deal, and costing $45 I will be back again for sure...some of the fairways were a bit beaten up but other than that the greens were great, very challenging but not too much (I am a 17 handicap and shot a 107!!!, expect to break 100 if not 95 the second time around).
Teed off at 2pm and the weather was perfect, and finished in just under 4 hours with a 4-some...could have finished in 3.5 if we played faster, it was wide open!
Great Course, Great People!
A friend and I play all over the bay area and this course we consistently come back to at least 4-6 times a year. The greens are in fine shape, very quick on the back once the watering has worked into the soil, fairways are in decent shape given the drought and the tee boxes are largely flat and not terribly scarred, a nice change from most other courses where you couldn't find a flat spot for love or money. The other players on this course are almost always really nice and very contentious about pace. The only drawback came at the 19th hole- getting our food took a while. Once it got there though, it was very good, much better than I expected! Overall a very good day on the course.
slow play
I love this golf course and generally it moves along well we played 11 holes in 3 1/2 hours, there was no marshall it would have been helpful as the play was slow.
better than average public course
This is a walkable course but driving is recommended. Ffairway is better than average. The green can use some improvements. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Good value to play in the SF Bay area.
Great Value!
You can get some great value on this course during the twilight special! It was very windy the day I went, but staff mentioned that was quite rare. Beautiful holes looking over a large forest.
A beatutiful place to play golf!
Just a very good time. The course had very few golfers and so the pace of play was excellent.
San Geronimo a new Favorite
Picturesque views from the valley, felt like we were in Lake Tahoe. We finished ion 3 hours and 15 minutes, an all time record for speed of play! (twosome)
