Fun track
This course is a lot of fun. Fairly forgiving off the tee, but plenty of trouble to make it challenging. Avoid the creek that is seemingly everywhere on the front nine. Several blind doglegs and plenty of bunkers. Unique par 3 finishing hole. Can't wait to go back.
NOT BAD WHEN LOOKING FOR A DEAL
Facilities show signs of a lot of deferred maintenance -- Greens were in very good shape and the staff was friendly and attentive. When your looking for a deal and really need to 'scratch your golfing itch' - Rocklin Golf Club is not a bad choice.
Good course for your game
This course is a good challenge to your game. The fairways and tee boxes will never compare to some of the nicer courses in the area but the greens are well kept and the layout is great. You should hit a variety of shots and clubs on this tricky but fair course. This course can challenge you in a lot of ways but it can also reward you for hitting the correct shot and making good decisions.
Slow play,bad management, average course
Old course suffering from poor management of the t sheet. Waiting on every tee box and every fairway.
Average course that is rough in a lot of spots(especially on the back nine) Much better choices in the area.
Condition was excellent
Enjoyed my birthday round of golf here! I wii play this course again soon. Staff was very helpfull and the course was in great shape. The pace of play was slow at the end if the round.
Good value and solid course
Rocklin GC is a staple in my course rotation - the price is right, the course is fun yet challenging, and the greens will leave even decent putters sometimes scratching their heads. The greens are relatively small and many of the short holes are guarded with bunkers in front. Any GIR here is pretty good in my book. The longer holes are fair in that they do not require a forced bunker carry on the approach. Any sandie is a good one because the sand can be sparse and compacted, which is probably the main negative here. You will most likely see at least one skulled bunker shot in your group. The pace of play is better than average and they really have their prices set appropriately in the market. It will continue to be among my top local choices.
Slow
Started the day 45 min behind. Took 5 + hours to play. This lasts time was just slow paced. Course is always in good shape
Good Place to Play Golf
This course was not difficult to play. That's good when you want to take you child out to play. Even though my son is learning the game, the course allowed him to play without too much relying on best ball.
Needs repair - but good track and service
Many bare patches in fairways, weeds in traps and cart paths, greens are bumpy. Owner needs to invest more money into the course. Great staff and food.
Biggest bang for your Buck
Iv golfed here probably 6 or 7 times now. This place gives one heck of a deal even on weekends. The course is always in great condition, carts are reliable, and the course is fun and challenging. Not only is the actual course there great but the food is too. Its nice to sit down after a game of golf, eat a brot and watch the pro's on the TV. Great course to practice on.
won't be back
The facility/golf shop is run down. Inside the golf shop is decent. They have a long bar inside, but it wasn't staffed on a saturday. Understanding we are in a severe drought, the mainenance on the course is horrible. Leaves cover about 3/4 of the course, so finding your ball is a challenge and waste of time--even if you land a great shot in the fairway! There are too many courses around this area to play here, you will be disappointed.
good time.
Gun course if you want to just have a good time. Yahoo
Great value
This is a decent course for the price. The pace of play was outstanding due to a threesome letting me play through. Did not encounter another group the rest of the round. The course is fair and in decent shape. I don't have anything negative to say. I play here quite often and I usually double up on the front nine due the back nine getting backed up. It was nice to play all 18.
great valley course
I normally play in the foothills and seldom venture down to the valley, however, this course was worth the drive. I had played it several times as a guest when it was private and now that it is public it's nice to see that it has retained it's quality and charm. Not only are the fees affordable but the value in the resturant is exceptional. My only complaint is I needed a replacement glove and although the choices were many the price was double as compared to anywhere else. I guss that's where they make up their money. Play the course, just don't forget any of your accessories.
just played
course is in great shape. Difficult for me because we played the blue tees and am really a white tee golfer. so tough second shots.
Much better than last time
I've played this course a couple times before, but was not impressed with the condition of the fairways & greens. They've definitely improved the course conditions, greens were in really nice condition, the fairways mostly good, too.
The course routing is a little odd, it's like 2 completely different 9's rather than a consistent 18. Still fun and challenging with just enough trees and bunkers to make you work for your score.
Wide open
Love this course to be able to have a lot of room to rip the ball.
Po-dunk at best
I should have know when I couldn't find a scorecard online for the course that this was going to be interesting... the website had "fly-overs" for each hole, but no yardage info.
I made a 10:50 tee time as a single and got there around 9:00, told them I'd be happy to go out earlier if they had an opening and got chewed out about paying for 1 time and asking for another...(would have been willing to pay the difference). The good news is I caught up with 2 locals that made experience worthwhile.
They have no signs to direct you to the pro-shop (located in the cafe) or any restrooms.
Samantha on the beverage cart was the only bright spot. I won't be back.
Golf was great
A very good value for your golf dollar staff is always nice and helpful.
Playing from the blue tees gives the best views...
Good course with challenging terrain and moderately difficult greens. Fairways are sloped to give added difficulty and test your shot placement skills.
