Apparently this place used to be good?
Theres a trailer for the clubhouse. The guy behind the counter had no personality and seemed bothered to check us in. The rack rate price was absolutely ridiculous!! $65 a player. While in the pro shop I went on golfnow and booked a "slightly" better rate, but even $48 was too much for this course. Lots of brown fairways. I understand the water shortage, but there's plenty of other courses in the area in good shape. You'd think with what these people are charging to pay here they would be able to pay for the needed water. Rough was very patchy. Track layout had some potential, but overall it was in very poor condition. Bunkers had lots of rocks in them. I just couldn't get over how expensive it was for how poor the course was.

Empire Lakes used to host a Nationwide Tour event once upon a time. Those days are gone and so are the pristine course conditions. This course has changed owners a few times and it's obvious the current owner(s) are putting just enough money into maintenance to prevent the grass from turning brown. It's still a fun challenging course but a far cry from its past glory.
The carts are in deplorable condition and the staff for the most, don't seem to care. Rumor has it that this course will be closing within the year so that might be the reason for the condition of the course.

I would have given this course a more favorable score as it normally is a very good course. However not being notified prior to reserving a tee time that two greens are under repair and two others were temporary greens in the fairway I have to give the review as is.

Agent played here in 10 years. Place is a goat field. It's going out of business in 2016 and it looks like zero money is going into it until then. Multiple greens "under repair" fairways are average and all of the lakes are down about two feet of water. Place was dead empty now I see why.

Always a terrific course offering a challenge at every level. Over seeded fairways are filling in nicely with some much needed rain. One temporary green on the back side but overall play should be terrific soon.

I really played here couple of times and love the course layout the hazards and the greens but the last time I played I wish that they were not airating the greens. The pace of players are too slow I hope course Marshalls would intervene. But surely I would recommend this course to my freinds

The course was reseeded, the temp was over 90 degrees and the greens were under much needed repair, but all in all it was a fun experience. I had great company (three guys join my buddy and I) and we had a good time. Our handicaps were similar so we had great comraderie. In a week or two the course will look pristine. Too bad the course has been sold to a developer.

When this course first opened, it was the gem of the IE ! But, now, with the course in escrow to besold and some kind of fungus on it's greens, this once great course has seen better days. But, having played a 4 hour round on a SUNDAY combined with an extremely fair price made this a wonderful round of golf !

Booked online literally last minute because of time constraints. Arrived excited abs ready only to wait at the tee to "cart path only" and punched and a few times to sandy greens. Wasn't aware of this on the booking and all of my buddies were pretty upset. I lost my booking privledges after thus round. Next time will call.

They were re-seeding a few holes, so that made it tough, but we knew that going in. I liked the layout. If it's your first time you definitely need some sort of yardage book or app to tell you were to go.

A descent course. Rates are way to high. Only play it when I can get a good deal. Played during fall maintenance. Unfortunately the drought has affected this course, like it has others. If green than rates would be more acceptable. Other than that, nice rolling greens, carpet like fairways, and descent tee boxes.

Have not played this course for a while and was surprised to see it went to the dump! Hardly any maintenance done. You can't tell which is green or fairway without the flag, most of the fairway is just like rough, not playable at all. Will not come back anymore.

I've played this course MANY times and this is the worst condition I've ever seen it in. I'm giving all courses a pass on the burnt fairways, but I'm being critical about the conditions of the greens. They were still in recovery mode, but on the tail end of recovery and they were pocked, bumpy, dried out and there was no pure roll anywhere. That being said, it was a great opportunity to play for $12, and the expectations of the condition should match your price. Don't go in expecting an Arnold Palmer course at this current time.

Wow, course is in extremely bad shape, did not know it was sold and will be redeveloped into a business park I assume. It's not a golf course anymore. I use to see tour play here, really sad to see the decline of such a nice track.

greens have bare spots .... Fairways in good shape ..... But miss one and good luck finding your ball !!!!

Greens are being repaired not being aerated..
It should have been explained before playing but nobody announced it..

A good number of the greens were bare from a fungus I assume. Also too much water in some areas were mushrooms were growing and it was too thick to mow causing lots of time searching for balls.

For $20 bucks you get what you pay for. The fairways are in good condition but the greens are horrible. It's like playing in the bunker on the green too many holes and a lot of sand on the greens.

Nice course that is under going some changes. Looks like some of the greens died off and are coming back. I heard this was due to reclaimed water. Some of the lakes aren't there due to the drought. Otherwise it is still pretty nice. Got a pretty good deal.
