Pacific Grove Golf Links is perched at the tip of the Monterey Peninsula looking out over Point Pinos and the sparkling blue Pacific. The championship course has an interesting layout that combines both parkland and links holes. The golf course begins inland through densely forested areas and then makes its way towards the coast. The challenges transition from gently rolling fairways lined with Monterey and Cypress pines on the front nine to windswept dunes in keeping with traditional Scottish links on the back nine. Although the golf course possesses unique challenges between the front and back nines, the presence of strategically placed bunkers and prevailing wind plays an important role throughout. A landmark of Pacific Grove is the Point Pinos Lighthouse, California's longest continuously operating lighthouse. It has stood since 1855 and now provides a historic accent to the course.

WOW! Even after a nights rain and some down pours early in the round it was a great round.

The greens were soft and fairly fast and the fairways were good... but not great. But the view was nothing less then spectacular. It's a great sight to see a doe and her fauns grazing just off the fairways.

I was surprised to get a tee time as quick as I did and at the time I wanted and what a great value.

Will try to play it every time I'm in the area.

We a agree, poor mans Pebble, the front 9 has a park land feel too it, quit tight. lots of deer, just roaming around. The back nine opens up with a tough par 3, from 11th onwards you're hitting out into the dunes and great views of the coast, not quit as dramatic as Pebble but very nice.
We play with a local, so that made our game even more enjoyable. We played in July 2011
    GO PLAY IT
