Pacific Grove Golf Links is perched at the tip of the Monterey Peninsula looking out over Point Pinos and the sparkling blue Pacific. The championship course has an interesting layout that combines both parkland and links holes. The golf course begins inland through densely forested areas and then makes its way towards the coast. The challenges transition from gently rolling fairways lined with Monterey and Cypress pines on the front nine to windswept dunes in keeping with traditional Scottish links on the back nine. Although the golf course possesses unique challenges between the front and back nines, the presence of strategically placed bunkers and prevailing wind plays an important role throughout. A landmark of Pacific Grove is the Point Pinos Lighthouse, California's longest continuously operating lighthouse. It has stood since 1855 and now provides a historic accent to the course.
