The course is older
I like this course because it is easy for my wife to play with me. The course has alot of trees so if you keep it in the fairway you can shot low scores but if you don,t well you know. The only problem like most ca. golf courses the marshals and or ambassadors that they are afraid to tell the people to get moving or let the group behind you go first to keep the game moving so you finsh in 4 hrs.But all n all this place fun to play.
The trees on the course make it challenging as usual.
The course was in very good condition, and the flooding problems from Winter 2011 were non-existent. The course was challenging as usual, and the greens rolled well. Our two-some easily finished in four hours. Overall, the weather and the scenery were great and especially considering the price. The only complaint becomes the driving range where they seem reluctant to mow the grass to match course conditions.
Beautiful surroundings
the pace of play was slow but still enjoyable. Will return again to play booking again thru GolfNow.com.
Challenging and fun.
San Luis Rey golf course is always a challenge to play, with the narrow fairways, stiff breezes and many trees to affect your shotmaking abilities. I continue to marvel at the course and the excellent value for the money especially on their generous twilight times.
Some great holes on this course.
Course provides an enjoyable round of golf. We did have some trouble with the group in front of us playing slow & not hitting until group in front of them was off the next tee.
Worth the drive.
A bit out of the way but worth the trip. Trees and water create holes that are interesting and different from the norm.
