
Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, Calif., has horrible service but the best practice facility on a public golf course.
Greens are puuuuuure-ina. Hard but very receptive. Tight fairways but no out-of-bounds. Twilight $27.00, you should be able to just finish. Traffic home may be bad, but well worth it.

I just spent a few days in Southern California on business and took a day to host a client for golf. I stayed in a hotel in Long Beach and found a really interestingly designed course in Fullerton - Coyote Hills Golf Course - just a 25 minute drive away. What I really liked about this track is that the 6,510 yards from the tips felt legitimate all the way.
