Escena Golf Club, Palm Springs - California golf course photo gallery

Escena Golf Club is the first new course built within the city limits of Palm Springs in more than a decade. It's definitely new school though.

This isn't your father's Palm Springs course.

For one thing, the palm trees are actually kept to a minimum. This is a stark, largely wide-open course. It's easy to track your ball here. And the huge white windmills in the distance really pop out.

"It's different," said Linda Simpson, who played Escena three times with her husband Michael before it was six weeks old. "It's something you don't really get out here."
