Northstar California Golf Course

Located at the base of a ski resort, Northstar California Golf Courserse possesses two completely different nines. Robert Muir Graves, the designer, fully utilized the rugged Tahoe landscape, creating a course that partly plays across grassy meadows before moving on to more mountainous terrain. The course starts gently with a front nine that is wide-open while the hilly back nine is much tighter thanks to an abundance of trees. The challenging golf course demands straight and accurate shots and there is little to no room for error. Golfers will also have to employ good course management in order to do well. One of the most difficult holes is the long, par-5 seventh. This 600-yard hole plays into the wind and has a lake to the left and out of bounds to the right. Hitting the green in regulation means three long, straight shots.
