The Valley is one of two 18-hole golf courses at Robinson Ranch. As the name would imply, the course is tucked into the Santa Clarita Valley next to the Los Angeles National Forest. California Sycamores, coastal live oaks, and stands of sage and chaparral blanket both golf courses. Scenic waterfalls further enhance the beautiful landscape and they also come into play throughout, most notably on the Valley's finishing hole. The Valley is the original layout at Robinson Ranch. It is not as hilly and plays more like a championship golf course than the shorter Mountain Course. Several elevated tees are incorporated into the design to take advantage of the stunning mountains views. The traditional layout combines both desert-style holes with holes that more tree lined. It offers an interesting variety of challenged including doglegs, sand traps strategically placed along the landing zones, and well protected, multi-tiered greens.

The course, in general, plays good to very good.

The greens play like solid wood. Good luck getting anything to stop that lands on them. Course itself is in very good shape otherwise (7/5).

For some reason, driving range and putting green are closed Tuesdays until 10 am. So if you're coming in for an early round, be prepared to play cold and take a few holes to warm up. I can understand they need to do work on them at some point, but during actual time when rounds are being played seems like bad timing.

Staff also left something to be desired. Was angrily told by the starter at the turn that we had to "pick it up fast" because the group in front of us was a hole clear of our foursome. Politely mentioned to him that the group in front of us was a two-some, and we had just finished the front nine in 4:15 and he angrily stated "You should have been done in 4 flat."

I'm sorry, but if you're paying almost $90 to play a round of golf on a course with a 130+ slope, if you're playing in "4 flat" with a foursome you're either all scratch golfers or you're not enjoying the round at all and you're literally just driving to your ball, getting out and hitting, and driving away ten seconds later.

The rudeness and condescending attitude not withstanding, it is a more than decent course that warrants playing about once a year.
