Looks like a piece of cake but has its challenges
would recommend this course. The staff is very efficient, professional and friendly.
No fore warning!
The tee time selection indicated "Fast Play Promotion" which wasn't the case! There was no mention of fairway aeration that left plugs littering the fairway. There should have been mention of the conditions, and a drastically reduced rate!
This is a great old school course with small greens and long par 4's
With the mild winter and good temperatures this year I was disappointed to find the fairways and tee boxes in such rough shape. The greens are in very good shape and run pretty quick with nice undulations. I have always enjoyed the challenges this course has presented but large dead spots in fairways and rough made it so we played some shots as ground under repair. I know that money is tight these days but since your already watering the ground, how about some grass seed.
Very difficult in an odd sort of way...tricky greens.
Very difficult in an odd sort of way...tricky greens. The back nine is quite hilly and the greens are rolling. there are a lot of sand traps on this course.6/18
Crowded
Foursomes were piled on and no enforcement of groups playing slow. Three times we were hit on and once the ball hit 6 feet behind us and rolled by us.
nice
I had a good day playing golf at sunset whitney and enjoyed the course.
Fun course, challenging back nine. Will recommend to golfing friends.
Fun course, challenging back nine. Course was in great shape. All the staff were very friendly. I will recommend this course to my golfing friends.
conditions have gone downhill
I have played this course several times this year and felt it was in pretty good condition and a good value. That all changed yesterday. The grass in the fairways is dying with large areas that are now just dirt and the sandtraps are like concrete with sand mixed with dirt and mud. It is sad to see a decent course like this go bad. I don't know how they are going to get it back into condition this summer.
The course was in great shape!
We arrived early before our tee time and the friendly staff let us get out there early! Great Course, will play again in the very near future!
a very challenging round of golf
sometimes hard, sometimes medium hard, but other than one or two holes being fairly easy,,a challenging course all in all, nice scenery alsol i would definitely play there again.didn't lose any balls,my playing partners lost 5...ces'la vie!!
Nice Course great price
Nice course with plenty of length. Greens are fair and have lots of contours. New course name Rocklin Golf Club.
The staff went above and beyond.
Course was tough enough yet very fair. A lot of businesses could learn some customer service techniques from this staff. And by staff I mean everyone we dealt with. Great experience. Thanks!!!
O.K. course conditions. Poor course management.
Played this course many times. Same problem with waiting every time. This last time I left after 9 holes that took 3hrs. Got to the 10th tee and it was bottle necked. Didn't feel like playing a 6hr round. I would only play rocklin golf course if there was nothing else available. Could be a good course if they didn't overbook and held people to there tee times. Fun challenging course if you stay in the fairway. The ruff is mostly dry dirt and weeds. New name same old problems.
The course was fun to play
I thought that the personal was great enjoyed that there was not a lot of waiting. I had good time with my Nephew who was visiting from the Bay Area we both felt that course was not to hard for are level but it gave us many challenges especially the long par 3 s and long par 4 s. I will put this course as one my favorites.
Rocklin Golf club
The "new" Rocklin Golf club is a great course for the cost. Couse can be slow play n but I've been there on a slow day and played 18 in 4 hrs. Well kept and a fun and challenging course.
Great course layout
I really enjoyed this course. Lots of different elevations and bends. The staff in the pro shop was very friendly.
What can one say?
Tough greens. Great fairways. Ever changing cup locations, make for a great day of golf.
Old style course
Sunset Whitney has just changed to Rocklin Golf Club. My first time playing there, and we got a great rate thru GolfNow. It looks like the course needs some extra maintenace- fairways were brown and bare in spots, bunkers need some grass cut around the edges. From using my GolfBuddy, it appears as though the nines were reversed, which leaves the back nine a par 3-4-3 finish. Not sure why that was done. Interesting, old style course design. Would play it again.
The front 9 were a real challenge due to a lot of water hazards
This course is a real challenge with a lot of up and down hilly areas & as mentioned a lot of water hazards in the front 9 - but I have to say - only a hazard if you get in one!!! Many of the fairways were dog legs left & right - not knowing the course made it even more challenging.
