Empire Lakes Golf Course

I will not play here again. I do not want to spend my leisure time. Maybe practise for range ball hit.

Played with a friend on 1/21/15. The course is in good shape, the greens very good. Pace of play a little slow with 5somes, but the marshal tried to keep the groups going.

Being an Arnold Palmer designed course, I was very excited to play this one with a few friends. Overall, I enjoyed the challenge of the course. I don't mind paying >$50 for a round every now and then but given the state of the course, I wouldn't pay that again here. I would play this course again, maybe later in the spring or summer.

Empire Lakes is one of my favorite courses in So Cal. And at a rate of $52 on Golf Now, what a deal. I played with three first-timers to the course and did my best to explain the tricks to each hole. It is not an easy course. But the minute you finish you know you want to play again soon. So I am playing again this coming weekend. It is well worth the trip to Rancho Cucamonga.

Arrived at course 30 mins before our tee time (15 mins after twilight rate started), and since they had no one waiting to play, we asked to tee off in order to get in as many holes possible before dark.
The starter told us that, since we had a discounted rate (using GolfNow) we couldn't play until our time.
Doesn't seem as if Empire Lakes wants golfers to use GolfNow.com.

Round took almost 6 hours. Not once did I see marshall setting the pace, or even on the first tee. There was a twosome ahead of us, and then a threesome ahead of them. The starter could have done a better job filing out the groups to improve pace.

Played Saturday 1/17/15, teed off at 7:18AM as 4th group off. 5:10 hour round at that time of morning is awful and felt like it took all day. Course is is good shape - firm and fast plays shorter than yardage. Must play to front of most greens and have to know lines of the tees or trouble awaits.
Guys do everyone a favor including yourselves, if you cannot play in 4 hours to 4 1/2 hours because you are constantly re-hitting or looking for your tee balls then book a later time. you will have more fun and so will everyone else.

I always play at EmpireLakes when I get a chance especially when they have good discount! I love this course I can play here 3 times a week!!! My favorite hole is the 18th!

Absolutely beautiful and in great condition. Will definitely play again when we return to this area. Best value for the money in the area.

The rough is getting a bit wild. Fairways and greens are looking good but the wild areas detract from the overall appearance.

Greens were bumpy and there was no Marshall to speed up play.

This is my home course and play it for its convienence to my location. I play this course all the time. The course is always in great condition and it will present a nice challenge. The only negative I have is that the cost to hit balls at the driving range is $13 for a large bucket.. The price keeps me from practicing there.

Why don't golfers repair their ball marks on greens??? Laziness or uneducated?? Overall, a slow but fun round!!!

I have always enjoyed playing Empire Lakes. This last round was not a disappointment. The course was in great shape and we caught a beautiful day to play. My only gripe would be that play was a bit slow. We teed off about 30 minutes late and on every par 3 there was a backup. Our round took about 5 hours.

I moved my mom into an assisted living facility in the area, so this has become my home-away-from-home course. I love it! The course is in good condition, the staff is outstanding, and every local I have been paired with as a single has been fun and easy to play with. It's no wonder I play here as soon as I get to the area! Love you guys. See you on a couple of weeks!!

The course is fair. But, the pace was too slow. We had to wait every hole.

Course was great but the weather didn't cooperate. the wind was blowing a steady 30 mph most of the day. Wind stopped blowing hard on the 17th hole. Course is well manicured and greens were good.

Great value...if you dont keep your ball in the fairway...you will never find your ball.bring plenty of ammo....no cart girls?

Played 11/09 at 11 am. got to the course 10 minutes before my tee time and 3 foursomes were parked on the first tee waiting to go off. I knew this was a bad sign. I was promptly told that a group had a person running late and that they wouldn't tee off with out their friend. Furthermore they wouldn't let anyone else tee off as it was their time... Seriously???? When i questioned the kid in the shop he said he had no authority to make them or force them to let players through as the bosses weren't working that day and he didn't want to get in trouble... Boy America is in trouble if our youth think this way.....

Well teed off and the course is a great track but it was a 5 plus hour round. The fairways were furry and the greens were slower than I remember. We waited on almost every shot.

As the day grew long it became apparent not everyone on the course was going to finish. This is where uit went crazy. People just started hitting in the groups behind us. I personally witnessed 5 players hit balls off the tee while other groups were in the fairway.

I was hit into 3 of those times including getting hit int he foot by someone playing from the tips on my hole. We finished at 4:15 and will not be back.

No Marshalls out there. No one picked up the phone in the pro shop. I guess they are closing sooner now that the course is closing down.

Stay away or bring a hard hat.
