The Golf Club at Rancho California

The Golf Club at Rancho California has had a tumultuous history since opening in 1970 including two different names and owners, but it has endured to become one of southern California's finest competitive venues today. The course serves as host to the SCGA Championships as well as numerous USGA, SCGA, and PGA tournaments. The course sprawls across hilly terrain that provides elevated tees, rolling fairways, interesting elevation changes, and not to mention scenic views. An abundance of bunkers that vary in both size and shape are strategically placed along the greensides. Prevailing winds add another tricky element to the round. One of the most interesting challenges comes early on in the course on the par-4 third hole. This hole features an elevated tee with a drop of over 100 feet to the fairway with trees to the left and water to the right.
