- dont play before 10:00 AM, fog will make it difficult to see your ball, otherwise well manicured, challenging. worth playingI am sure some of the locals will hate me for this but... Tilden has some of the most beautiful holes in Northern California outside the Monterrey Peninsula. This is a shot making course with great par 3's and beautifully maintained greens and fairways. American Golf has rejuvenated a old classic course. The site of the East Bay Regional and just a wonderful eighteen but don't try to walk it unless you are in very good shape, lots of ups and downs and the most brutal holes for walking happen to be at the end of the round when you are already losing steam.
