49ers Struggle at
UW's Women's Golf Tourney
Carla Legaspi Leads Long Beach State
SAHALEE, Wash. (Oct. 13) -- Long Beach State's women's golf team had a tough time at the University of Washington's women's golf tournament this week, placing 13th out of 13 teams invited.

Pepperdine placed second as a team at 899, 21 strokes behind USC, with Stanford (903), Tulsa (928), and New Mexico (931) rounding out the top five.
The 49ers finished 13th, with a three-round score of 999, three strokes behind the University of San Francisco.
The top 49er finisher was Carla Legaspi, who tied for 44th at 245 (+29), with Shelbie Jasper placing 57th at 249 (+33). Other 49er finishes: Fredrika Schlasberg (59th, 252), Amber Pearson (T-60th, 254), and Mira Lee (62nd, 262).
The women's golf team will next be in action November 8-10 at the Wahine Fall Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii.
