Pristine conditions, awesome design
What a course. Awesome layout and design. Perfect conditions. Fast greens. A shorter course that plays more difficult than you think. You have to plan ahead each shot. Very fun and I will definitely be back.
Go Play It!
Great course, beautiful views (especially on the back), always in fantastic shape, the club and staff are top notch. Go play it!
Great Value
This is a beautiful resort course that’s winds through the Carmel Hills. Fast greens, challenging hole a d spectacular views. Patio is great for drinks and a snack
Good Condition
Great Course, in really good condition
Having major staff issues in restaurant and bar but there is a restaurant on the 8th hole that is pretty good!
NO COURSE RANGER
Consequently, we didn't finish. Not good. Short par 70 and yet it took 2 hours and 15 minutes to play the front. We waited on every shot. The back side was more interesing by a long shot but I'll never know how it finished because it was pitch black by the time we got to 16.
Great Round
Holes 11-14 can be card wreckers. The wind came up the last 5 holes and it played a lot harder. Beautiful elevated tee boxes on the back nine. Staff in the pro shop super helpful.
Add to list if you go to Pebble Beach
During a recent bucket list trip to play Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, we wanted to play a few other local courses. The caddie at Spyglass recommended Carmel Valley Ranch. It’s located in a gated golf community and is a beautiful and challenging course.
We played from the Lavender tees (5230 yards) to challenge ourselves but the forward tees are 4433 and would be challenging and fun too!
Lots of elevated tees and you quickly realized you need to play the slope on many holes. We played with a local who gave us tips on many holes.
The carts have gps, they give you towels and water in the cart. Nice driving range (balls provided) and a nice practice green.
Definitely go on GolfNow for a deal, otherwise it is expensive but w/the golf now deal we got it was a super value!
Carmel Valley Ranch
Conditions were great, pace was outstanding but it was very uncrowded. A few shots that were a little tricky if you haven’t been there before. I would most definitely play again.
Punched greens stink
Scheduled golf here with family member in town. Showed up to find greens had been punched and sanded and were basically unplayable. The person checling us in gave us a discount due to these conditions, but any reservations should have warned us about these issues. We would have never played a course with newly punched greens. A miserable day. No way to cancel and find another option at the last minute.
Back nine has cool elevation changes and nice views.
