Castle Oaks is a very challenging course for even the best players. Especially the long-ball guys. I have found myself playing some of the best golf of my life here without pulling my driver out once. Shot selection is also key. The fairways might be wide open, but don't forget about your second and third shots here. To score here, you really have to plan your next two shots before you hit your first. A game changing course and a green fee unmatched by the competition. My second favorite golf course in Northern California, second only to The Resort Course at Mount Shasta.

This is a fine layout, from the blues or blacks will certainly find one using all the clubs.
3rd hole (par 3 200 yds) a bit severe for the average player hitting that target.
All others are fine and flow nicely to each other. If you don;t like this course, you don't like golf

Castle Oaks is a great course! Well maintained, friendly staff, and a challenging course for most amateurs. Don't let up at the end, the 16th through 18th can eat you alive if you're not careful.

I played Castle Oaks last fall. Itis a pretty,well-maintained course & the price is right. Some of the holes ,however, are a bit much (e.g.,17 which has oak trees completely across the fairway;nothing that a chainsaw cant cure). Give it time to mature.
