SAN FRANCISCO, CA, - Corporate Golf, the Pro Shop to America’s Leading CorporationsSM, was honored as a “Small Wonder” in the San Francisco Business Times “Hot Tech” awards. The awards recognize Bay Area companies for excellence in Internet technology or strategy.

The blue-ribbon panel of eight judges included Hal Varian, Dean of the School of Information Technology at UC Berkeley, and Heidi Roizen, managing director of Softbank Venture Capital.

Winners ranged from venerable names like Sun Microsystems and Charles Schwab to up-and-comers Zaplet and YouCanSave.Com. All twenty-five “Hotties” are profiled in a special supplement to the journal's October 19 issue.

Corporate Golf is a pro shop exclusively serving corporate buyers for golf events and other logo gift needs. The company first established its Web site, www.corporate-golf.com, in 1997 as a way to communicate product and company news to tech-savvy clients, and to serve as an on-line brochure. The site has been expanded to showcase key products, with links to on-line catalogs of many of its top golf brands. The management, however, has chosen not to offer on-line purchasing.

“Our clients are looking for guidance from real people with a thorough knowledge of the products, rather than to just place an order without human interaction”, said Nina Renaud, Corporate Golf’s owner. “They come to us for our expertise and service, as well as our selection and pricing.”

On the Hot Tech awards, she said, “San Francisco is the cradle of the Internet, so just being nominated for using it to attract and benefit clients was a huge honor. We were thrilled beyond belief to win in such illustrious company.”

Corporate Golf offers golf event planning and management services, as well as apparel, accessories, and equipment. Its brands are sold in the shops at top golf clubs and resorts, and at major golf events like the U.S. Open and Ryder Cup matches. These include Ashworth, Bobby Jones, Callaway Golf, Cutter & Buck, Roche Golf, 1879 by Joey Rodolfo, Sunderland of Scotland, and LinksKeeper. The company was established in 1995, and is a certified woman-owned business. Corporate Golf is based in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Business Times is owned by American City Business Journals, America’s premier publisher of local business newspapers.
