The Marshallia Ranch Golf Course is one of the top courses in the military, serving as the host to several Air Force and professional golf events. Located between Lompoc and Santa Maria, the course sits next to the oldest building on Vandenberg AFB, the 167-year old Marshallia Ranch House. At more than 6,800 yards from the back tees, the golf course presents a challenging test for golfers of all skill levels. The central coast location provides blustery ocean winds and you'll also have to be cautious of the ball-grabbing ice plants throughout. Eucalyptus trees also frame most of the holes, demanding further accuracy. There are a few blind tee shots to watch out for but Marshallia Ranch G.C. is mostly straightforward. You might find that you'll have to use every club in your bag but it's still a fun golf course that both low and high handicappers can enjoy.

Where to start, the course layout is one of my all tme favorites. It's a shotmakers paradise. The practice facility has everything a player would want and then some, maybe even a deer or ten on the driving range to even add to what is sure to be an outstanding day. It's hard to believe it's a military course. It's the type of place you never want to leave. I can never play only 18 holes there, last time I played 54 holes, just couldn't get enough of the place. And the pancakes are huge.
