Good for the price
I had played this course many years ago - before Sacramento had a lot of options. It was definitely a little dated, but overall not bad. I paid $29 for 18 and played as a single. I finished in 3.5 hours. The greens were in good shape and were challenging. The fairways and tee boxes were rarely marked, so I'd recommend a golf caddy. Golf Carts were in good shape and more modern than the rest of the amenities. Nice little 19th hole Cantina as well.
Greens rolling great right now
4 of us just played early morning for a good value ,older facilities but really friendly service, great time would play it again
Great fun!
The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways are browning and patchy in places because of the drought. Had a rough round until the 16th hole when I aced the 150 yard par three with my new Cleveland 7 iron that I bought at Golf Galaxy in May. Used a Titleist NXT.
Course has improved
A first, the sand traps were excellent. The greens - perfect. Course is very dry, and the lies are tight.
Rocklin golf club
This is a great course for the price the pace of play is always pretty good, it was a bit slow this Sunday but I expected that bc it was Father's Day, they always have great prices a great staff and the course was in excellent condition even with California being in a drought and many courses cutting back on watering. If you've never played here I'd say get out there and play this course it's difficulty challenges you especially on putts make sure you look twice as the greens are usually rolled the opposite direction.
Comfortable round of golf
This is a great place to play. Traditional course, no trickery. Greens were great, rolled true. Plum-bobbing not reliable here, must read the subtle humps. Played at 7:36am on a Friday and finished in 3.5 hours. I'm not used to that pace. Good conditioned course, friendly staff. Facility is a little dated but fine. Had lunch, steak tacos were phenomenal. I'm all in on this course. Will go again anytime.
Fast firm greens
A private club back in the day, now a muni, and it's long in the tooth. The pros: the greens are well kept, firm, and fast. Though they appear mostly flat they have subtle slippery breaks and given the speed it's a challenge, miss your approach below the hole. It's a good layout overall, fair, but be careful not to drive through the fairway on the dog legs. The cons: very dated clubhouse and somewhat neglected overall appearance, a squeezed-in uphill driving range, tee boxes are rough, and don't even think of hitting an explosion shot out of the bunkers, they are hard as a rock underneath, better to pick them with a chip shot. I played at a great discounted rate so I can't complain and would play it again at the lower rate, but regular rates are overpriced for the area which has a lot of good courses for the same or less.
A good fun and a nice challenge
Long holes and lots of sand and water. Fast greens and nice par threes. Pace of play was good friendly staff. Entertaining course
Rocklin Golf Club Rocked
What a value, $15 with a cart and a noon tee time. Walked up and and expected to be paired up but was told by the management to "Go when you're ready". It was a great day of golf, lots of beautiful holes, well maintained and ready for play. Pace was quick and had a super day, always try to play here when I can to support the local business and get great service all along the course, not to mention the abundant wildlife that makes the play interesting. Highly recommend RGC.
Stay out of the rough!
The rough is full of sticky Bermuda grass and clover. It's difficult to find your ball, let alone hit out of that rough, so stay to the fairways. The grass is clumpy in the fairway and rough, but at least you can hit from the fairway. Green were fast and nice considering the drought in CA. Staff was very friendly. Not much draft beer choice in the cantina, but they let you take bottles on the course.
Great course in rocklin
Usually play Whitney and turkey. This is a great change up especially for the price. You can find cheaper deals for 18. It's a tough course with dog bends every where. Good luck paring 18th.
Good course for a good deal
As with many courses today this course had some rough edges but I think they put the effort into what counts. The practice area is nothing to talk about and the clubhouse is old and not much to speak of. That being said the tee boxes fairways rough and greens were in pretty good shape. The greens felt true to me and I like the option of playing all the different tee boxes. I really like the kind of old school layout with small greens that made for some tough shots. I would say my only real gripes were with the sand traps that were hard packed.
Good value
Great practice course. Very hard to get into real trouble off the tee. Good value. Weekday pace is good. Fri and Sat is slower.
Staff is great, but facilities need to be updated
This course had me like wtf
First off lemme say I understand why it was 23$. I was actually pumped to play there today. Now that I'm done I am kinda disappointed. I just think the course was boring all while the grass was too wet and not maintained that well. Course was aight but at least I got to say I played here and got to check it off my list.
Rocklin golf
Lemme jus say. You get what you pay for. I was kinda pumped to play here today. And now that I'm done I get why it was 23$. There was a few nice holes but overall the grass was too wet, not maintained that well and on top of that it was just boring. Course was aight, but glad I got to check it off my list of places to play in the area.
Caddy Beast from Folsom. My Name is Cole Gibson, Im a golf professional and the general Manager here at Rocklin Golf club. Sorry about your experience, sounds like from your review our course did not meet your standards. The golf course was not on a water regiment the date you claim to have played so I'm curious as to how you found it wet. I believe it rained the week previous, the clouds must have not gotten our request. Also, as for boring, we hosted a PGA TOUR event here multiple years running in the past with the top pro golfers in the world. It was selected by the USGA and PGA as a challenging and unique course to host events. It's a Championship rated golf course, also we have 8 golf Professionals that live local belonging to the NCPGA and play in a weekly skins game here and we were just speaking on how much character this course offers. And how challenging. It has a wonderful and diverse layout. We are owned by a retired PGA TOUR golf professional for over ten years, and he mentioned that he was interested in buying this golf course due to its incredible character, elevated greens, and difficult approach shots, and access to wonderful sights and surroundings. he"s palyed around the entire globe at the most premiere and difficult courses at the highest level of competition. But it seems as if your golf skills and shot making capability went un- challenged, surely you shot under par, my guess is you birdied every hole. Not sure where you play around here for 23 bucks and get what we offer here, but I'm game on being told where. That said, come back anytime. : )
Greens aeration was done on 2/23/15
I didn't know aeration had recently been done to the greens until I showed up to play. They weren't sandy, but bumpy.
Still a nice course to play.
Thank you for coming!
-Cole Gibson, General Manager.
Beer on me next time your here, just let me know!
Nice Course Friendly Staff
The friendly staff and beautiful course make this a must play. We played on a friday and got to take our time and play unrushed golf.
Pretty Good for February
Beautiful 75-degree day in February. The greens and tee boxes were in good shape and pretty consistent. Some very soggy spots in. the fairways from rains a week ago. Bunkers were packed and need sand - typical of every golf course in the area.
Thank you for the review and we appreciate you business! Hope to see you out soon! Beer on the house, just mention this comment my man!

Great Old Course
Great old course. Greens can run fast and are true. Not long, but shot shaping is required to score well.
First tee time of the day
Perfect weather course was in great shape. Once it dries out a little the front 9 should e back to carts on the course. Greens were rolling great.
Caddybeast I was a little concerned about your review as a ex PGA Pro and current player of mini tours and the local Skins game that plays here at Rocklin I was wondering to which course you played in Rocklin?
Rocklin Golf Club host some of the best players in Norcal and beyond Weekly daily monthly yearly.. it is a very tough and challenging course my personal best is a 68 which is not my lowest round of golf but im really proud of that number here and surely you are aware of the challenge here im sure your score is indicative of that.
Anyways I dont normally waste time texting but I thought I would personally invite you to the Skins game so you could see the course at its finest and toughest pin locations.. I will even pay for you to get in!! Hope to see you soon.. ask for SHY!!
