Narrow fairways, very challenging.
Fairways bumpy with lots unrepaired divots. Greens were nice and greens but inconsistent. The bunkers were in great shape.
Lots of trees, so you have to shape your shots.
playing as single
very quiet area. beautiful scenery. rough wasn't bad.greens in good shape but occasionally bumpy.
I would play here again!
Excellent day
What a beautiful SoCal day. Course in good shape. Food is very good and priced very reasonably. Not the usual golf course rip off. We were informed that the course had been recently purchased so we look forward to the improvements.
Good challenge
This is a nice older course with good variety. Many holes are fairly narrow with trees reaching in from the sides. You will hit a tree if you are off to one side very quickly on most holes. Conditions of the fairways are a little rough but the greens are good. With the specials online, this is a great value.
Good course for working on fundamentals
Working on getting my driver back and after a lot of hours and balls on the range, thought I was close. Fallbrook is a great course to test on as, if you haven't fixed your fade/slice, you still have a good shot at playing from the other fairway on several holes. It also provides opportunity for high iron approach shots (8 through wedge) since several greens are protected by either an overhanging tree or a bunker or two.
Pace of play can be an issue because it's a good (nearly great but conditions need to be better) course for the cost so it can fill up. Front 9 - 97 minutes, back nine - 150
Score low
I'm a 20 handicap golfer and this weekend I shot an 86. Its my personal low. Played early in the am, course was in nice shape and the birdies were chirpin! ( I had three, also a personal best). Think I've played here four or five times and I would def recommend to others as well as play again myself.
I will be back
You can't beat the great attitudes of the staff at Fallbrook. From the guy who checks you in, to the cart guy, to Jacklyn serving up great sandwiches, I highly recommend this golf course. Secondly, the golf course is fantastic, challenging but fantastic.
My new home course
I love this course. Finally after a move from Kansas I found my home course in North County. This little gem is great for any golfer really. Long par 5's short-mid par 3's and a variance of par 4's make this course extremely versatile. It is tight though, especially on the back nine, hitting through narrow tree's to break open into a wide open approach so it forces you to slow down and practice the control off the tee. Fairways in pretty good shape for the time of year, it's really grass! They never slouch from what I notice on the watering of the course. Greens have always been in great shape, and the tee boxes are moved regularly so it's not all dirt. Staff is super friendly, and they have all the facilities needed. Driving range, massive putting green also in great shape, and a chipping green, complete with small bunker. Family owned I believe and they have a massive back deck at the 19th with fire pits tv's and extremely good food. GREAT VALUE for the price and I will continue to go while I still live in Oceanside.
Fair greens
Other than the greens the rest of the course was covered with winter debris. Clubhouse did serve some great food.
Course had very slow pace of play
Course was slow. Over 5 hours to play 16 holes. Left due to slow play. Greens were good but dirt on some areas in the fairways, sand traps had dirt as well. Played great and scored below my average.
Better
Much better than the last time I played there.
Course time play was really poor last time.
Dogged by slow play
Even with a 10am start, had to wait on every hole. Turns out they let a 5-some play and held up everyone. It's a nice course to play but for some reason the marshalls didn't do anything about the play.
Great Price
Play Fallbrook often. It is a fun layout. It would be nice if they would over seed the fairways in the winter.
love the older grown-in courses
the greens were great.the tee boxes and fairways were decent .all in all we had a great time
Bad fairways, nice greens
We were disappointed in the condition of the fairways. The greens weren't bad.
Dried Out
A lot of this review is based on the conditions - drought. The course was mostly brown due to the dry conditions over the last few months. There were some dirt areas around the greens and fairways that should be cleaned up. The greens were fast and in good shape. Overall, not terrible but the dry fairways made for some ugly scenery and fast fairways. I've played at better courses that week that weren't burned out like this course was.
THIS COURSE HAS SOME VERY DIFFICULT HOLES.
This course was good but the fairways were dry and browning.
Overseeding missed
Played on the hot deal. Paired up as a foursome and played in under 4 hours. Greens in excellent shape, tee boxes didn't take the overseeding, so they are a mess.
Overall not a bad bang for the buck, but need to make sure you get a deal.
Quaint, quiet and beautiful.
The same sleepy little golf club that I used to play 25 years ago. Plenty of challenges and target golf set in a beautiful little river valley. The back nine at this course is one of the most aesthetically pleasing (pretty) in North County. Low fees, a nice little snack bar and a bar/grill that serves cold beer and hot snacks after a round.
Favor the scenery here - decent shape, like most others with lack of rainfall recently a bit stressed here and there but its understandable.
Some tees and greens a bit sparce in places, Placed as 2some at 9am & placed thru couple slower groups who were cordial about it. Favor the area and the landscape here; you don't see a lot of people out and about and it's quiet and you can concentrate on your game. Nice bar and restaurant with staff who do their best to make your comfortable. Played in 3hr 20 min with not a lot of golfers on the course for a Friday morning.
